New Name, New Place, Same People, Same Priorities

Effective January 1st 2012, the Legal Resource Centre has changed its operating name to the Centre for Public Legal Education of Alberta (CPLEA).

We believe our new name better reflects our identity and purpose as a public legal education (PLE) organization.

  • 55 blog posts on a wide variety of topics
  • 50 new resources were added to ACJNet (now LawNet)
  • 100 new Canadian Legal FAQs posted, 85 drafted, over 130 updated
  • LRC helped host a visiting scholar from Beijing
  • 90 volunteers included students, project advisory groups, legal writers, lawyers, librarians, teachers, and seniors.
  • Visitors of websites increased 8% overall
  • 600,000 visitors to our website viewed over 2.4 million pages of information
  • Blogosaurus Lex won 2009 CLawbie for Best New Law Blog
