Effective January 1st 2012, the Legal Resource Centre has changed its operating name to the Centre for Public Legal Education of Alberta (CPLEA).

We believe our new name better reflects our identity and purpose as a public legal education (PLE) organization.

Projects

Law for Alberta Classrooms

This project will draw together law related resources specifically designed for Alberta classrooms. The site will be searchable by grade level and curriculum connection. Jointly funded by the Law Society of Alberta, Alberta Justice and the Alberta Law Foundation.

A-Link Upgrade

This project will update the online directory of public legal education services in Alberta and will enable anyone to print a directory of services available in their region. Funded by Alberta Justice. Grade Six Social Studies Resource - Funded by Alberta Justice.

Charity Central

Charity Central is a three year pan-Canada project funded by Canada Revenue Agency to support Registered Charities under the Income Tax Act in meeting the requirements for issuing donation receipts, maintaining proper books and records and fundraising. This project will result in a range of new learning resources in a variety of formats for the staff and volunteers of Registered Charities. In Alberta, Charity Central will operate a telephone Helpline to provide information and referral for Registered Charities.

Charity Central (Small and Rural)

Charity Central (Small and Rural) is a one-year project that will provide resource materials to small and rural Registered Charities in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, and to help them meet their unique challenges in complying with Income Tax Act requirements.
